The Dirt... so to say
It’s no secret. I’ve always loved being outside working, playing, relaxing or just taking it all in. Well rooted in knowing this strong connection, I have developed my lifestyle career and business to reflect my passions.
After working for 24 years in the tourism, recreation and environmental education fields, I started my business—Homefront Essentials Gardening in 2002. I am very grateful for my studies at the University of Guelph and my Horticulture Certificate.

Personal growth and development is another one of my passions.
I experienced a pinnacle point on an Outward Bound experience at the age of 17 that ignited my interest. I am honored to be a Certified Coach through Erickson College and I am grateful for all of my mentors. When I officially added freelance writing, speaking, facilitating and coaching to my offerings the name Banyan Tree Solutions broke ground. Banyan Trees throughout history have played an important role with natural and cultural landscapes. These enormous trees have been a special place for people to gather for business, spiritual growth, relaxation and to exchange stories. It was my experience with this beautiful tree in Lahaina Maui that inspired me and my business name.
